I
started writing strangely off poetry at age 15-ish, but had
never really gone anywhere with it. I didn't start writing fiction
until about 1999. In the beginning, I wasn't entirely sure what I
wanted it to be. It was just a couple chapters of a horror-ish story
that just kinda started spinning up in my head, and I started writing
it down as it showed up. I've kept the first draft for posterity, and
every once in a while I go back to look at it to remind myself of how
far I've come. And yes, it makes me cringe. Still, it's a good tool to
chart growth. I highly recommend it.
I've
had several pieces published before:
A
serial story - The Model and the Mad Scientist, a
story about a wierd, punk rock mad scientist who reassembles a model
torn apart in a fit of pique by a ravenous werewolf. It came out
monthly in a free local DC Goth monthly 'zine The City Morgue,
Unfortunately,
The
City
Morgue
is
no
more.
One
of my short erotic stories was also published in the May 2007 issue of Swallow
Magazine.
